Wayne Rooney has been presented with the golden boot trophy for his record number of goals for Manchester United by Sir Bobby Charlton.
The Englishman has come under heavy scrutiny in recent months after he lost his automatic starter role for club and country, but he broke the 40-year record with a brilliant 94th minute free-kick against Stoke City.
He’s enjoyed a remarkable career at Old Trafford and has been heavily linked with a summer exit as reports claim he’ll be looking to finish his career elsewhere.

It’s quite an achievement for Rooney and there’s no doubt that he’ll go down in the history books as a club legend.
There aren’t many players that can boast the figures that the Englishman does for club and country, especially in modern football where players don’t stay at a club for over a decade.
Whether Rooney decides extend his stay or finish his career elsewhere, he deserves respect for all the clinical moments where he’s delivered in the past when United have turned to him.
