Manchester United supporters have expressed their concerns following news of an injury to Eric Bailly during an Under-23 game against Everton on Monday night.
The Ivorian returned to action for the first time following a difficult African Cup of Nations campaign with Ivory Coast, featuring for 58 minutes.
He was forced off with what appeared to be a foot injury, receiving some heavy strapping on the sidelines as opposed to heading straight down the tunnel.
Man United fans were quick to voice their disappointment following news of a further set-back for the 22-year-old.
Manchester United have confirmed that Eric Bailly is fine as he was taken off as a precaution. Lucky escape. #mufc

A serial optimist would take solace from the fact that Bailly, after coming off, didn’t head straight down the tunnel to receive immediate treatment – a possible indicator that his withdrawal was nothing more than a precautionary measure.
Regardless, the sight of Bailly limping off upon his return to England is indeed something of a worrying sign, especially during a period where Chris Smalling, whilst superb last season, is indeed failing to produce his normal levels of power and composure at the back.
United fans will hope to see Bailly, who has already missed seven games in 2017, not miss much more action at Old Trafford this season.
