Jose Mourinho opens up about Manchester United’s summer transfer plans

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has opened about his plans in the summer transfer window, claiming the board already understand what players he wants to sign.

Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has allegedly agreed to join Man United in the summer in an £85million deal, while the club remain heavily linked with Benfica’s Victor Lindelof.

However, Mourinho claims he doesn’t want to speak about any of his targets until the summer, with the winter transfer window closing days ago.

“I think to be speaking about transfer window in February makes no sense at all,” he said.

“Until the summer I have nothing to tell you. Of course I know what I want.

“I know what the impossible targets are.

“I don’t like my club to participate in impossible deals, It’s a waste of time.

“It is a gift to agents of these impossible players to have United interested in them.

“From now until the summer I am just focused on our players, our targets and our fans.”

Mourinho managed to bring world-class names to Old Trafford in his first window at the club without Champions League football to offer and there’s no doubt that if he sets his eyes on a player, there’s a good chance we’ll see them in a United shirt.

While Griezmann’s future may rely on Diego Simeone’s future at Athletico Madrid, there will be a big pressure on the Frenchman to play at Old Trafford in his beloved No.7 shirt alongside good friend Paul Pogba.
