Manchester United have added Bastian Schweinsteiger to their Europa League squad ahead of the knockout stages.
Teams were allowed to name three players to add to their A squad and Man United chose to register Schweinsteiger and goalkeeper Joel Pereira.
Jose Mourinho froze the German international out of the first-team after his arrival in the summer and many expected his career to be over after the club even wrote him off as an asset in their accounts.
However, he’s returned from his exile, making two substitute appearances and made his first start in more than a year last weekend when he scored in the 4-0 FA Cup fourth-round win against Wigan Athletic.
It’s brilliant news for Bastian and there’s no doubt that he’ll be excited to continue working his way back into the squad under the Portuguese boss.
