Harry Kane: Jose Mourinho should give Marcus Rashford more opportunities

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has urged Jose Mourinho to give Marcus Rashford more opportunities at Manchester United.

The Englishman has scored six goals from 16 starts and 12 substitute appearances across all competitions this season but has mostly been deployed on the wing with summer arrival Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the line.

He’s enjoyed an incredible rise to prominence at Old Trafford and is approaching a year since his debut against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League last February.

Speaking about his situation at the club, Kane wants to see him play a bigger role under the Portuguese boss.

“It’s difficult for Man United as they had dominated the league for so long and then all of a sudden that’s over,” he said.

“They are trying to get back into contention and they feel the best way is by getting a big manager to buy big players. It doesn’t always work.

“Marcus is a fantastic player and hopefully he won’t get pushed into the background. He will need opportunities and I hope he gets them. I guarantee you there are so many players in academies who are good enough.”

It’s spectacular to think about all that Rashford has achieved during his first senior year in football and the fact that he’s only 19 and at the start of his career is an exciting prospect.

His development would have been excelled as he learns from on of the best forwards in the world and there’s no doubt when the big Swede takes his career elsewhere, it’ll be Rashford’s time to take the main stage.
