Axel Tuanzebe has been working hard at Carrington with the Manchester United senior squad ahead of their game against Watford on Saturday.
The youngster, included in Jose Mourinho‘s 25-man tour squad over the summer, has been a regular presence at Carrington in recent weeks.
He received his long awaited debut during Man United’s 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic last month, enjoying a solid cameo at right back in the second half.
Tuanzebe, later handed a new contract after making his debut, was seen putting in the hard yards once again in preparation for the contest with Walter Mazzarri’s side.
The 19-year-old introduction was something of a seminal moment of the Mourinho era. He was, after all, the first academy product to receive his debut under the Portuguese, picked above anybody else to receive his chance to impress on the big stage.
Then again, such an occurrence, for those who have watched him over the last year, should have come as no surprise at all. Nicky Butt, head of United’s academy, has noted that Tuanzebe sets an ideal example for all aspiring youngsters across the country: supremely hardworking, powerful, respectful and, most importantly, a player you can trust.
