Henrikh Mkhitaryan produced another scintillating display at No.10 during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round.
The Armenian served as a constant source of technical brilliance and awareness all afternoon, with the zenith of his display coming in the form of a defence-splitting pass for Marcus Rashford‘s equaliser after 27 minutes.
A glance at Mkhitaryan’s stats, however, demonstrate that he did far more than just provide an assist in the first half at Ewood Park.

Some players are, above anything, just a joy to watch. Against a Championship side with nothing to lose, on a soggy, muddy pitch, one may have expected the diminutive 28-year-old to struggle in the face of a potentially scrappier test, but the result was emphatic.
Placed in the No.10 role again, Mkhitaryan was in a ravenous mood. Every touch, pass and turn was done with more composure and urgency than anybody else on the pitch, rendering the enigmatic Armenian virtually untouchable. He was for large parts of the encounter positively gliding across the surface, picking the ball up and moving it on, slowly wearing the home side down until, finally, they caved in under the combined power of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba.
