Jose Mourinho has been calling Barcelona forward Neymar regularly in an attempt to bring him to Manchester United, explaining how a transfer would benefit his career and allow him to develop, according to reports.
They claim these calls have been going on for weeks as the Portuguese boss has reignited interest in Neymar, after he had been heavily linked with an Old Trafford move in the past.
Mourinho allegedly sees Neymar as a perfect fit at Man United, especially with the team’s over-reliance on Zlatan Ibrahimovic for goals this season.
While supporters are used to being linked with massive names at Old Trafford, it hasn’t been any different under the Portuguese boss with big links to a summer deal with Antoine Griezmann.
Mourinho has proven when he sets his eyes on a player there’s a good chance we’ll see them in a United shirt, as he attracted the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly to United without Champions League football to offer.
Should Neymar become available, United won’t be the only club interested in his services, but they definitely have the funds available to break the transfer fee once again after making Pogba the world’s most expensive player.
