The Englishman has been left on the sidelines at Old Trafford as Mourinho looked to get the best out of him and it’s brilliant to see him back in the team, it’s similar to what we’ve previously seen with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial.
He’s by far our best option at left-back and it was a shame to see his talent being wasted at Man United as the likes of Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo haven’t been able to fill his shoes.
Speaking in his press conference prior to the clash, Mourinho confirmed supporters would finally see him back.
“So you don’t need to have the guys at the Lowry to take pics of who is selected” he said. “Luke is working hard and has improved physically, for sure, with good dedication.”
“Luke is working hard, he’s trying to improve, he improved by the physical point of view I can say that by good dedication, specific work and now he needs some opportunities to feel alive, he needs minutes on the pitch to show evolution is not physical but globally because a player is not just a better physical condition.”
Hopes are Shaw’s able to take his chance while he can because after being publicly criticised by Mourinho earlier in the campaign, he’ll be fighting fit and ready to prove he has it in the locker.
Mourinho has already confirmed he has no intentions of selling Shaw in the summer transfer window as he understands his ability, but it’s about getting him to work the Mourinho way.
