Jamie Carragher has labelled the antics between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Tyrone Mings as disgraceful in Manchester United’s clash against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
The pair were involved in two red-card worthy incidents, with the game level at 1-1, Bournemouth defender Mings intentionally stamped on Ibrahimovic’s head whilst he’s on the floor, with the Swede returning with an elbow on Mings when the pair challenged one another during a later set-piece.
They should consider themselves lucky as neither were sent off, as replays clearly show really quite violent conduct from both players from numerous angles.
Here’s a look at both incidents with commentary from Carragher and Gary Neville.
Ibrahimovic had been involved in a battle with the left-sided defender throughout the first half and it was a shame to see it come to that as Jose Mourinho showed his disapproval of Mings’ tackle as they walked past each other in the tunnel at half-time.
Zlatan has played a remarkable role for United this season, and not having him on the pitch would have been a massive blow, especially losing the club’s top goal scorer for any further matches in a busy schedule of fixtures.
