Jose Mourinho includes Axel Tuanzebe in training with Manchester United

Jose Mourinho has handed Axel Tuanzebe another chance to train with Manchester United’s first team ahead of their clash with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

The 19-year-old, who travelled with the first team on their pre-season tour of China, has been spotted training at Carrington on a number of occasions this season.

He was handed his first senior appearance by Jose Mourinho during Man United’s 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup, replacing Timothy Fosu-Mensah at right back in the second half.

Tuanzebe was once again pictured working hard at Carrington ahead of United’s encounter with Eddie Howe’s men on Saturday.

Finding a place in Mourinho’s plans has proven difficult for the likes of Anthony Martial, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and, more recently, Luke Shaw this season. And Tuanzebe will know that competition for places under Mourinho – as is always the case with the Portuguese – will be truly ferocious over the next few months.

Then again, with United – still fighting in the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup – set to embark on their most chaotic, congested conclusions to a season in recent history, the teenager could receive a chance to impress further this season, perhaps setting up a platform for a breakthrough campaign next time around.
