Jose Mourinho was not pleased with Manchester United players as they failed to remain clinical in front of goal in their 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.

Man United had 20 shots on on target at Old Trafford, and deserved to leave will all three points, especially as they played against 10 men for 45 minutes, but they weren’t able to get the job done.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed a penalty late on as Mourinho’s men failed to pull ahead, missing out on the chance to move out of sixth place in the Premier League.

Speaking after the fixture, Mourinho was not pleased with Man United’s draw.
“What happened was that we played phenomenal in the first half and should have been winning 3-0 or 4-0 – then it ended up 1-1,” he said.

“Who can I blame? Ourselves. Nobody else. We missed big chances.

“In the second half we played different team with a man less.

“I understand their need for one point in the survival battle and they just defended to make it difficult for us.

“I understand that. And on top of that the goalkeeper was phenomenal.

“We felt pressure of the clock running down and lost the quality of our attacking football.

“We didn’t lose intensity or desire but the reality is we didn’t score goals.”

It was a dramatic game with plenty of action, but United should have been able to pick up a win as they push towards their main aim of a Champions League qualification.

We’ve missed out on a good chance to close the gap on the top four and while it still isn’t over, United have only made the job harder.
