Paul Scholes gives his verdict on Paul Pogba at Manchester United

Paul Scholes has given his verdict on Paul Pogba‘s performances at Manchester United, stating the Frenchman understands how to control the game.

The 23-year-old has endured a mixed start to life at Old Trafford and has often been unfairly criticised after becoming the world’s most expensive player last summer.

He’s settled in well under Jose Mourinho, but is still finding his feet as he struggles with consistency, which is why Scholes has only rated him as a six or seven.

Speaking about the situation, Scholes claims Pogba should not be distracted by social media.

“I like the way he pulls the strings with long and accurate passes,” he said.

“But he can also calm down and control the game. Either way he has a great influence on United’s game as a six or seven an offensive player.

“That he is so much in social media does not distract him. I know Paul as a very focussed professional, but with a problem: He has so many different celebrations, but rarely gets the chance to use it. He still has to change that.”

It’s hard to believe Pogba is only 23 as he’s at the start of his career at Old Trafford and will be able to take control of the midfield for the next decade.

Things are still clicking for him underneath the Portuguese boss but there’s no doubt Mourinho is the right manager to guide him forward and get the best out of him.
