Jose Mourinho has taken a 20-man Manchester United to Russia for Thursday night’s Europa League clash with FC Rostov.
Here is Man United’s full travelling squad for Russia: De Gea, Romero, O’Hara; Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Blind, Darmian, Young; Carrick, Herrera, Fellaini, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Mkhitaryan; Martial, Rashford, Ibrahimovic.
With Chelsea away on Monday in the FA Cup quarter-final, I expected Mkhitaryan to be given a couple more days to rest and train at Carrington but he’s clearly fit to be involved in Russia otherwise Mourinho wouldn’t have taken him.
Shaw being left back in Manchester isn’t an issue after an impressive performance against Bournemouth because he’s just working his way back into the team. As for Rooney, that’s also a little surprising but maybe Mourinho has one eye on Chelsea with that decision.
Overall, it’s pretty much a full strength United squad.
