Henrikh Mkhitaryan re-joins Manchester United squad after absence through injury

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is back in Manchester United’s squad and travelled with his teammates out to Russia for Thursday night’s Europa League game with FC Rostov.

The Armenian midfielder has been out of action since going off in the 1-0 win over St. Etienne after he scored what proved to be the decisive goal and has since missed the League Cup final with Southampton and the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League.

However, he’s now available once again in what is a massive boost for Jose Mourinho‘s options ahead of both the FC Rostov and Chelsea games.

Mkhitaryan has been mustard for United ever since he properly broke into the first-team and I don’t think there is anybody who can offer the same attacking threat he does, either in the central No.10 role or on the right flank. He’s top drawer and having him back, especially with Zlatan Ibrahimovic out banned, is a big boost.

You could probably argue he is the best player in this United squad. He’s irreplaceable on the right hand side and we seem to struggle in attack every time he doesn’t play, so to have him back just before Chelsea is perfect.

Will he play out in Russia? He certainly won’t for 90 minutes but if he can get some time under his belt ahead of our trip to Stamford Bridge that should put him in perfect shape.
