He’s made 25 appearances under Jose Mourinho this season and scored on his third consecutive Wembley appearance to help Man United win the EFL Cup with a 3-2 victory against Southampton last month.
Conte is said to believe Lingard could fit in as an option at wing back or as a forward in the favoured 3-4-3 formation which has seen Chelsea rise to the top of the Premier League table.
Reports claim they are both ready to battle it out for his signature this summer as he hasn’t quite cemented himself in the first-team underneath the Portuguese boss.
Mourinho is said to be aware that Lingard could leave for free at the end of next season as there has been increased speculation over his contract talks at Man United.
Lingard is a brilliant squad player and has plenty to offer at United, as he injects pace into the squad and is a great asset to have as Mourinho rotates his players in three different competitions.
With one season left on his contract there’s no doubt Mourinho will be looking to keep him tied down at Old Trafford with a new deal.
