Marouane Fellaini accompanied Jose Mourinho to his press conference ahead of Manchester United’s Europa League second-leg clash against FC Rostov, with players that speak to the press always starting the next game.
Man United face FC Rostov at Old Trafford on Thursday night after drawing the first leg 1-1 in Russia and the side are expected to win even though it’s still all to play for.
The Belgian sees the Europa League as a second way that the team can get back into the Champions League this season, which remains the main aim of the squad.
Speaking in the press conference, Fellaini answered questions on a range of different areas.
“We have a lot of games,” he said. “We have travelled a lot but all the players are ready, We had a good physio, good recovery so I think everyone is ready.
“We play against teams in Europe. Every game is tough. We have to play game to game. We have two ways to qualify for the Champions League and that it is it.
“We will do everything to be there. We have the squad and we have the players. We are confident and will show that tomorrow.
“On Monday it was a hard game for us, with one man less for one hour. We gave everything and tried to fight to the end but we lost.
“It was a long trip home but we are professionals. Yesterday we did a good recovery and we will be ready for tomorrow.”
Man United are in a good position in the Europa League and although they are still within touching distance of the Premier League top four, recent results have only made the job at hand even harder.
Hopes are the squad can pick themselves up from the Chelsea defeat as this is where it matters for United in their aim for a Champions League qualification.
