Sir Alex Ferguson was in good spirits following Manchester United’s 1-0 victory over FC Rostov in the second-leg Europa League Round of 16 clash on Thursday night.
The squad controlled the game throughout the 90 minutes, but had a few scares with Sergio Romero forced to make some world-class saves, including a stoppage time free-kick save to stop Rostov from equalising as the ball was heading for the top corner.
Fergie seemed to be happy as Man United progressed further in the European competition.
There were many players that performed well including Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcos Rojo and arguably one of our best performers in Marouane Fellaini as he was substituted later on.
After spending the last two games on the bench, it was brilliant for Mata to find our very important goal as he proves his importance to the side once again.
The team performed well and they now have time to rest before United face Middlesbrough on March 19 in the Premier League.
