Bastian Schweinsteiger has sent a message to Manchester United on social media after it was confirmed that he will leave the club immediately and join MLS club Chicago Fire.
The German midfielder agreed a one-year deal and will be flying off to the MLS once he’s completed a medical and his visa has been approved.
Despite his limited time on the first-team, Schweinsteiger quickly made himself a fan favourite following his switch to Old Trafford in 2015 and it’s great to see he’s finally received the chance to play regular football.
Here’s a look at his post on Twitter where he thanked fans, team-mates and United staff.

He hadn’t featured in any league games this season with Mourinho not willing to play him outside of cup competitions where he was rotating the squad.
Many fans were frustrated with his time at Old Trafford, especially when the world-cup winner was forced to train alone or with United’s U23s and it’s a shame that it didn’t work out at United.
Bastian deserves to be playing each week as he enters the latter stages of his career and hopes are things go well for him during his time with Chicago Fire.
