Manchester United players have reacted to Bastian Schweinsteiger‘s transfer to MLS side Chicago Fire.
He agreed a one-year deal with the American side and will be leaving once he’s completed a medical and his visa has been approved.
Schweinsteiger hasn’t played much since his Old Trafford switch in 2015 after struggling with a range of injuries and things didn’t improve under Jose Mourinho as he hadn’t featured in any Premier League games this season, only in Man United’s cup competitions as the Portuguese boss rotated his players.
Here’s what the players had to say about the German international on social media.
Oh Giorgio Armani all the best for your new challenge and thanks for your advices and your good mood ✌????️???????? @BSchweinsteiger

He’s quite clearly had a massive impact on the players at Old Trafford, as his help for the likes of Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Anthony Martial was well-documented, providing advice for them as they broke into the first-team.
Bastian quickly endeared himself to the hearts of fans at Old Trafford and although he didn’t have much of an impact on the pitch, it was great to see him in action during his short spell at the club.
Schweinsteiger could have been an incredible signing but it was just too late for United, as he failed to really find his feet, but hopes are he can build on his impressive career during his time at Chicago Fire.
