Jose Mourinho was in the crowd on Friday night watching Croatia beat Ukraine 1-0 in their 2018 World Cup qualifier.
Mourinho’s appearance has got tongues wagging after reports during the week linked Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic with a move to Manchester United, with some going as far as saying Mourinho was in Croatia to help finalise a move.
Perisic played no part in Croatia’s 1-0 but his representative Predrag Mijatovic was also in attendance, which has only helped to further substantiate the claims from the press this week.
United have also been linked with fellow Croatian Marcelo Brozovic and with the international break providing a brief break in United’s intense schedule, it looks like Mourinho might have one eye on the summer ahead.
This week we’ve been linked with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and now Croatian duo Brozovic and Perisic. The common denominator is of course that they are all attackers and Mourinho is fully expected to be in the market for a new striker or potentially two depending on what happens with Wayne Rooney.
One thing is for sure as far as I am concerned – United will have another busy summer with Mourinho shaping his squad and his presence at the Croatia game has given the Brozovic and Perisic rumours more legs so expect them to continue intensifying as the season goes on.
