Jose Mourinho‘s side have endured a mixed season and have struggled for consistency in their fight for a Champions League qualification.
However, two players that have produced the goods and helped the side secure plenty of points are Valencia and Ibrahimovic, both posted from different positions, but with the same goal, to help United win.
Speaking about his decision, Savage claims Zlatan has done well to prove he has what it takes to perform in England.
Savage wrote: “When I suggested that United should sign Zlatan two years ago, I was absolutely slaughtered on social media. Modesty forbids me from saying I told you so, but the facts speak for themselves: 26 goals in all competitions says it all about his worth to the cause at Old Trafford.
“And at 35, don’t give me any slush and nonsense about ‘resting’ players – Ibrahimovic has done more than most to expose the myth of footballers suffering from fatigue. He wants to play every week for a reason… because he is fit enough, and good enough, to do so at this level.”
Zlatan signed on a free transfer and has scored 26 goals across all competitions, silencing his critics who claimed he wouldn’t be able to keep up with the intensity of football at United.
While, Valencia has been nominated for the United Player of the Month award for March once again and has made the right-back role his own under Mourinho as our most consistent player of the campaign.
Savage’s full team: Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester), Antonio Valencia (United) , Michael Keane (Burnley), David Luiz (Chelsea), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea), N’Golo Kante (Chelsea), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), Dele Alli (Tottenham), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (United).
