Henrikh Mkhitaryan has sent a message to supporters after he scored in Armenia’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Kazakhstan on Sunday.
The 28-year-old hasn’t started in the Premier League since February 11 but found the back of the net for the national team as Armenia claimed back-to-back wins in Group E.
He opened the scoring in the 73rd minute as he performed well at the Hanrapetakan Stadium and could be set to return to the line-up for the Premier League visit of West Brom on Saturday.
Here’s a look at his message to fans on social media.
Mourinho claimed Mkhitaryan was too fatigued to retain his place in the side at Middlesbrough, as Jesse Lingard came in to take his place and managed to find the winner.
His freshness could convince Mourinho to give him some more game time, especially as United have two home league games in four days, starting with West Brom on Saturday.
Lingard did not appear in England’s 2-0 victory against Lithuania on Sunday and he’ll be set on keeping his place in the side after being named as Man of the Match.
