Sir Alex Ferguson: Jose Mourinho is doing a good job at Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson insists Jose Mourinho has been doing a good job at Manchester United this season.

The Portuguese boss took over from Louis van Gaal last summer and has done a brilliant job of guiding the side forward, winning the EFL Cup and helping the squad progress into the UEFA Europa League Quarter-finals.

However, the side have endured a mixed start in the Premier League as they currently sit fifth in the Premier League, only four points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, with a Champions League qualification the main aim of the club.

Speaking about the side, Sir Alex Ferguson claims Mourinho has been unlucky with the amount of draws the team have gotten.

“I get on well with Jose and I think he’s doing a really good job,” he said.

“He’s been a bit unlucky because they’ve been absolutely brilliant in most of their home games and drawn (seven of) them. If they had got the wins they deserved they would be challenging for the league, no doubt about that.”

United have been brilliant this season and the improvements have already been visible as the Portuguese boss continues to build on the foundations in place ahead of the summer transfer window.

There’s no doubt he’ll have some big names in place as he continues to build his squad and it’ll be interesting to see who we get linked with next.
