Michael Carrick was uncharacteristically poor against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. The veteran midfielder failed to influence the game going forward and without Paul Pogba we needed Carrick to step up and be the creative driving force from midfield.
Unfortunately, he just seemed to lack any creativity. Passes were sideways and there was rarely any incision from him which was exacerbated by the fact he played alongside Marouane Fellaini.
A few years ago Gary Neville knew after a game against West Brom that his time was coming to an end as a Man United player. Was this Carrick’s moment?
