Jose Mourinho insists Manchester United’s board are aware they must conclude their transfer business quickly this summer.

The Portuguese boss has told executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to complete the summer deals as soon as possible after providing him with a list of names that he’d like to sign.

Man United will undoubtedly continue to be linked with massive names ahead of a summer transfer, but Mourinho has already identified players he’d love to sign at Old Trafford.

Speaking about the situation, Mourinho claims he understands he won’t be able to sign all of his targets but is remaining optimistic.

“It’s very important to get signings done early and the board knows that,” he said.

“But I also know that the market is very difficult. They know I’m not asking for impossible targets, I ask for difficult targets. Then it’s a difficult job and they try to do the best they can.”

The likes of Antoine Griezmann, Victor Lindelof and Kylian Mbappe are only a few of the many players linked with a transfer in recent weeks and it’s clear United are set for a busy summer.

We’ve seen how Mourinho operates from his first summer at the club and there’s no doubt if he was able to sign the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly without Champions League football, then we’ll see some more exciting names at Old Trafford.
