Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to return to action for Manchester United tonight against Everton and is looking forward to getting back amongst it.
Ibrahimovic has served a three match ban for the incident with Tyrone Mings at Old Trafford and Man United have been lacklustre in attack in his absence, although to be honest we were equally as poor for the last few games even with him in the team.
Despite that, it is of course a boost for United to have our top goalscorer back and speaking ahead of the match Ibrahimovic admitted how frustrated he was watching from the sidelines.
“I’m better at it than I used to be,” he told MUTV.
“Before I was more emotional and deep into my feelings, now it’s more that I look at the game and I have trust in my team-mates, I have confidence in them.
“It’s part of the game, you can’t always play. Sometimes you are out for injuries or suspensions like in my case or for other reasons. You learn from everything.
“I feel good. I missed Old Trafford and the games with my team, but finally I am back and hopefully I come back with positive vibes.”
Ibrahimovic needs to come back and lead our line with some goals, it is as simple as that. Over the course of the season he has blown hot and cold but if we are to mount this push for a top four spot we can’t afford him to blow cold in the last ten games of the season.
We’ve struggled all year in front of goal – sometimes with chance creation, other times with finishing – but when we have been excellent Ibrahimovic has been at the forefront of that, least not in the League Cup final when his brace sealed the win.
Tonight, United need Ibrahimovic back to his best. If he is, then we’ll all be very confident of overcoming Everton but if he struggles on his return, which could well happen after three games out, it could be another tough game to watch for United fans at home this season.
