Ian Wright insists Lyon are the only team left in the Europa League that can cause problems for Manchester United in their aims of a Champions League qualification.
Man United are on track to win their first European trophy since the penalty shootout victory over Chelsea in the Champions League final in Moscow.
We have since lost to Barcelona in Champions League finals in 2009 and 2011, but haven’t been involved in a European final since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
Speaking about the club’s chances, Wright believes Lyon is the only difficult game ahead.
“Lyon will give Manchester United problems. They’re the only ones,” Wright said.
Following the club’s recent results, Mourinho could be forced to emphasise on the Europa League, as a Premier League top four has only gotten continuously harder as they now sit four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
Mourinho has already stated he could be forced to put all of his eggs in one basket, but I doubt we’ll see players rested for the Europa League until the Premier League is mathematically impossible.
They’ve already beaten French side Saint-Etienne and Russian club FC Rostov and hopes are they can start right against Anderlecht in the Europa League Quarter-final on April 13.
