The side haven’t looked the same since Sir Alex Ferguson‘s retirement as David Moyes and Louis van Gaal have failed to bring the same mentality at Old Trafford, but the Portuguese boss oozes confidence.
Man United have already won the EFL Cup this season and are favourites to win the Europa League to accomplish their main aim of a Champions League qualification ahead of next season.
Speaking about his impact, Carrick insists Mourinho is hungry for success and it’s rubbing off on players.
“You can see that Mourinho is a winner and he’s won wherever he has been. You can see that it drives him on and it’s all about winning and rightly so,” he said.
“That’s what you want, you want to be winning things and be successful. We’re still a bit short in the league but we won the EFL Cup already and we’re going for another one. He’s driving for that and he’s hungry, you can see he’s hungry for more and he wants more success.
“It’s the same with any manager [around the training ground], you speak to him at certain times and it’s no different.
“There’s no special formula if you like, you’re creating relationships on a personal and professional level.”
He’s won trophies at all of the club’s he’s managed and is undoubtedly the right manager to guide us forward, even if performances have been mixed this season.
Next season will be truly exciting for United fans and I can’t wait to see what Mourinho has up his sleeve next to build on his illustrious career at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
