Pachuca and Mexico winger Hirving Lozano has identified Manchester United has his preferred next destination for the future.
The 21-year-old made his Pachuca debut at the age of 18, scoring just five minutes after coming on before going on claim five goals in his opening campaign.
He has now scored 40 goals in all competitions after just three seasons for the Mexican side and received his first call-up to the national side in February 2016.
And Lozano (more commonly referred to as ‘Chucky’), when asked about which club he would prefer once the European giants come knocking, pin-pointed Man United as an ideal option.
“I believe many [leagues] are beautiful, I like the English and the Spanish very much,” he said.
“But let’s see how things are and decide. The one I would like most is Manchester [United], I like this club a lot and it’s a very important club.”
Pachuca president Jesus Martinez also revealed in April 2016 that United scout Jim Lawlor had been monitoring the youngster ahead of a potential bid.
“[The chief scout] has been coming here to do special reports on our players, but especially Chucky,” he said.
“We would love it if he had to go that it would be to a team like Manchester United or Porto.”
And this is indeed why Chucky (as I will now indefinitely call him) could serve as an ideal fit at Old Trafford. He has made 138 appearances for Pachuca in spite of being just 21, scored just five minutes into his senior club debut and netted his first international goal just a month after making his debut.
In other words, he does not mess about when it comes to embedding himself in a particular set-up – something that could be vital as Mourinho’s men look to hit the ground running next season.
