Manchester United pair Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah have been nominated for the Golden Boy award.

Rashford has enjoyed his career at Old Trafford, following Premier League and international debuts, an England squad berth at the European Championship, as well as FA Cup and EFL Cup triumphs with United.

He scored his first Premier League goal in over six months at Sunderland on Sunday and it’ll be a brilliant boost for his confidence after being played out wide to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front.

Fosu-Mensah has only had three starts and four substitute appearances this season but made a well-recorded breakthrough last campaign under Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.

The duo face stiff competition from the likes of Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele, City favourite Gabriel Jesus and many other candidates that are under the age of 21.

They haven’t done enough to win the award this year, but it just goes to show their hard work has not gone unnoticed after being compared with the best youngsters around the world.

The future is bright for Rashford and Fosu-Mensah at Old Trafford and there’s no doubt they can go on to become solid players if they continue to work hard under Jose Mourinho.
