Anderlecht vs Manchester United: Confirmed travelling squad

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United have taken a 20-man squad out to Belgium for Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Anderlecht.

David de Gea is back in the squad, although it is expected he’ll be rested, but there is no place for Wayne Rooney or Ashley Young.

Paul Pogba is in contention to start his first game after returning from a hamstring injury and Man United will of course be turning towards Zlatan Ibrahimovic for him to score his 29th and potentially 30th goals of the season.

It’s good to see young duo Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah in the squad but they may well not be included in the final matchday selection. That being said, simply being involved by travelling should rightly be construed as a positive thing.

Here is the full squad list of the players who travelled: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira, Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Axel Tuanzebe, Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Jesse Lingard, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford

Jose Mourinho is set to face the press at 1730 GMT. We’ll bring you updates from that throughout the evening.
