The Englishman has been continuously criticised by Mourinho this campaign, especially after the Everton draw where he came off the bench to win a penalty in the closing minutes of the game, helping salvage a point, but even with his vital display, the Portuguese boss claimed he was having to tell Shaw what to do from the touchline.
He’s bounced back and seriously impressed in the 3-0 Premier League win at Sunderland last week, playing an hour at the Stadium of Light and earning praise from Mourinho.
Speaking about the team, Shaw insists he’ll continue to work hard.
“I’ve got a massive smile on my face,” Shaw said. “It was great to have got 60 minutes under my belt away at Sunderland.
“All-in-all I feel really good, really fit and really confident. I just want to keep playing now. I just want to work hard in training and keep playing games.
“I took what the manager said on board and I will work hard until the end.
“I want to be at this place and hopefully I can carry on giving great performances for the club until the end of the season.”
He hasn’t been able to cement his place in the side this season and it’s a massive shame that his talent is being wasted.
Hopes are he can continue to work hard and keep his head down as he looks to earn his place in the side.
