Jose Mourinho has provided an injury update on Manchester United’s squad ahead of the second-leg Europa League quarter-final clash against Anderlecht clash at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Man United are currently favourites to win the entire competition and must kill off the game following the 1-1 draw at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium in Brussels last week.

The injury crisis has improved at United, but key players like Juan Mata, Chris Smalling and Juan Mata are still ruled out, with Wayne Rooney close to returning to the side.

Speaking prior to the clash at Old Trafford, Mourinho has explained the situation about his players.

“No injuries from the [Chelsea] game, but also no-one recovered,” he said.

“Mata, Jones, Smalling – they are still out. Wayne is the only one that is possible, but I cannot confirm now.”

The squad are within touching distance of the Premier League top four as they sit four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City and hopes are they can continue from the Chelsea victory.

Mourinho will have his aims on progressing in the Europa League as there are more chances of getting back into the Champions League and a win is a must once Rene Weiler’s men return to Old Trafford.
