Manchester United continue their gruelling set of fixtures in April with a trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Sunday.
Unfortunately for Jose Mourinho, he is going to have to do it with a depleted squad thanks to a host of injury issues.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo both suffered serious ligament injuries in the 2-1 win over Anderlecht and are ruled out for the rest of the season. For one player to suffer a cruciate ligament injury in a game is rare, for two key players to befall the injury in the same game is almost unprecedented.
They join Juan Mata, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones on the sidelines which leaves Mourinho with Eric Bailly as his only recognised senior central defender. Daley Blind is available but as we all know he isn’t a natural centre-back.
Axel Tuanzebe, 19, has been training with Man United’s first-team this week and is expected to be part of the squad on Sunday. There is every chance he could start alongside Bailly to get his first senior start but I’d be a bit surprised if it wasn’t Blind who played.
The other worry for United is that we played 120 minutes on Thursday night only four days after an exhausting game against Chelsea. Marcus Rashford is our man of the moment but he’s played so much football will he be fit for this tie and given that we play Manchester City away on Thursday, will Mourinho balance his side with some rotation?
We’ll have the full starting XI news at 13.15GMT on Sunday as always, an hour before kick-off, so visit the site then to find out who starts for United.
