Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to visit world’s leading knee specialist to save Man United career

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to visit one of the world’s leading knee specialists in America to save his Manchester United career, according to reports.

He suffered a ruptured cruciate during last week’s Europa League tie against Anderlecht and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

He is set to be treated by Pittsburgh orthopaedic surgeon Dr Freddie H Fu as early as next week in an attempt to try and save his footballing career.

A Man United representative claimed an estimation of his a full recovery will take place once treatment plans have been taken care of as doctors are yet to inspect the level of damage sustained.

He’s been a vital player this season at Old Trafford as the club’s top goal scorer with 28 goals across all competitions and hopes are he can return to his best as one of the greatest of his generation following spells at Barcelona, Juventus and both Milan clubs.

Ibrahimovic has been in talks with the club to extend his one-year deal at United, but they will undoubtedly be put on hold as his condition is assessed.

Not many players would be able to fight back from such an injury at the age of 35, but Ibrahimovic is like no other.
