Ashley Young explains where Manchester United have gone wrong this season

Ashley Young has explained where Manchester United have gone wrong this season following their 1-1 draw with Swansea City in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho‘s men, depleted by numerous absences and a palpable level of fatigue, made a stilted, turgid start to the clash with Paul Clement’s side but managed to take the lead on the stroke of half-time through Wayne Rooney‘s penalty.

Gylfi Sigurdsson snatched a deserved equaliser for the visitors with a sensational free kick after 79 minutes, condemning Man United to their tenth home draw of the season.

And Young, speaking after the game, noted that United simply have to improve when it comes to killing off lesser teams at home.

We’ve been here before, of course: United huffing and puffing in search of a winning goal, only to somehow fall short and drop points.

But this felt different. Mourinho’s men, following eight games since the start of the month, looked as if they were operating at 60% against the Welsh side. It was apparent from the first minute that one team had played 19 more matches than the other this season. They gave everything, but there was no bite, nor any sense of composure, as United continue to feel the effects of a gruelling few months.
