Jose Mourinho has initiated a crackdown on Manchester United players’ use of social media.

He has been left frustrated with the content that players have made public and has introduced a strict set or rules explaining what they can and cannot publish on Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram.

The Portuguese boss has allegedly told the first-team he doesn’t want them to publish any training pictures within 48 hours leading up to a game, especially from the team bus whilst on the way to games.

He wants to limit the amount of information that leaves the club, particularly so that his squad are completely focused on the task at hand on match-days.

Writing for the Independent, Jack Pitt-Brooke claims Mourinho was furious with Shaw as he posted footage of himself training at home in November as it represented the club in a bad manner for not doing their job properly.

Supporters have seen plenty of social activity from the players this season but it seems Mourinho is looking clampdown on the situation as his plans have not completely adhered to this season.

It’s the right move for Mourinho and it’s clear that he’s trying to get the squad focused, especially as some results have not been good enough.
