Axel Tuanzebe has expressed his delight at receiving his first senior start for Manchester United against Arsenal.
The 19-year-old, who made his debut back in January, was handed his first Premier League start at the Emirates as Jose Mourinho rested key players ahead of Thursday’s clash with Celta Vigo.
And he attracted plenty of praise for what was a confident display, hallmarked by a superb marking job on Alexis Sanchez, on the right hand side of defence.
Tuanzebe, speaking after the game, was notably pleased with finally receiving a chance to impress in the Premier League.
As calm and collected off the pitch as he was on it. Well played, Axel! pic.twitter.com/KYTo05Bw6d

Today is another day in the calendar for many and, for Man United fans, a day to forget as their side’s 25-game unbeaten run game to an end.
But for Tuanzebe, May 7 2017 will stay with him for as long as he lives. The youngster has dedicated everything towards asserting himself at Old Trafford and, 19 months since his first appearance on the bench, his chance finally came against Arsenal and one of the Premier League’s best in Sanchez.
What do you do when finally presented with the very thing you’ve been working towards your whole life? Some, I imagine, would freeze. Not Tuanzebe: the youngster looked completely at home swiping the ball away from Arsenal forwards and stroking the ball across the pitch all afternoon, and supporters will desperately hope to see him feature further over the next few weeks.
