Luke Shaw could miss the start of next season at Manchester United – report

Jose Mourinho could miss Luke Shaw‘s services at the start of next season at Manchester United following his ankle ligament damage, according to the Telegraph.

The Portuguese boss is keen to bolster his defensive options following the club’s injury crisis at Old Trafford this campaign and the situation wouldn’t have been helped by the left back’s recent situation.

James Ducker claims Man United were willing to listen to offers for Shaw in the summer transfer window, but his latest injury against Swansea City will put off any potential deals.

He could potentially miss all of the pre-season games and Mourinho will not be happy as the Englishman has been working hard for his place in the side but was labelled as very far behind his teammates in terms of fitness, according to the Portuguese boss.

Shaw has been publically criticised by Mourinho this campaign on multiple occasions and following the double leg fracture against PSV Eindhoven in September 2015, another setback won’t be great for his progress.

He’s such a talented player and it’s a shame he can’t keep fit because a good run of games in the side could really showcase what he’s made of.
