Manchester United target Willian insists he’s happy at Chelsea and understands his place in the side even though he’s not been playing much recently.
He’s been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho signed him at Stamford Bridge in 2013 and has been associated with a summer reunion with the winger.
Willian has not started a league game since March but was one of the few positives from Mourinho’s final four months in charge at Chelsea last season.
Speaking about his situation at the club, Willian claims he’s still happy at Stamford Bridge.
“My future is here with Chelsea,” he said.
“I have a contract until 2020 and I’m happy. I know sometimes players always want to play, but I understand why I’m not playing much.”
He’d be a brilliant player to have in the side but there’s a slim chance that Chelsea will actually let him leave in the summer, especially to join league rivals United.
With Champions League football also uncertain for United, Willian won’t want to leave a side that have just won the league for Mourinho’s squad which is still on the path of re-building.
