Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez over the summer, according to sources at Sky Sports.
The 25-year-old notably waved to the Bernabeu after being substituted during Madrid’s 4-1 win over Sevilla last Sunday – their last home game of the season.
And according to sources at Sky Sports, Man United will have the chance to sign Rodriguez during the summer transfer window.

Now, listen, before everyone starts to get too excited and harp on about how Rodriguez is definitely coming to Old Trafford to all their friends, it is worth pointing out that Sky Sources, whilst generally credible, aren’t 100% correct all the time: back in 2015 they revealed that Ilkay Gundogan, then of Borussia Dortmund, was on the verge of completing a move to United; Radamel Falcao to Manchester City was another one.
But with that said, this story is quickly morphing into something more than just mere chatter: that wave to the Bernabeu crowd was heartfelt; Zinedine Zidane, speaking after victory over Sevilla, refused to dismiss the prospect of a move away in the summer; even Rodriguez’s dad has noted he’d prefer to see his son play elsewhere.
And according to Guillem Balague, United are leading the race for the talented midfielder. Supporters will, no doubt, now eagerly await any further developments.
