Surgeon: Mino Raiola lied about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s knee injury

by Tanveer Arayan

Volker Musahl, one of the doctors who operated Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has rubbished claims by his agent Mino Raiola claiming that the big Swede will return to America after his career so they can research his knee.

The 35-year-old sustained a cruciate ligament injury during Man United’s 2-1 win over Anderlecht in the Europa League in April.

Since then, Raiola insisted Ibrahimovic was in such good condition that doctors wanted to study his knee at some point in the future.

Speaking about his comments, Musahl has downplayed suggestions that Ibrahimovic will be back in Pittsburgh for research.

“It was a routine surgery. There were no complications,” he said.

“Zlatan has a very good bone structure and his knee is absolutely in a good condition. But it is a bit of an exaggeration to say it will be a research object.”

Musahl was unable to confirm how long Zlatan will be out of action, but he’s believed to be out for about 12 months as he continues to recover from his operation

If there’s one man that can fight back from such a career-ending injury at the age of 35, it’s Zlatan as he won’t want to end his spectacular playing career in such a sad way.
