Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has flown back from America following a successful knee surgery.

The 35-year-old suffered an injury in the 2-1 victory over Anderlecht last month and is expected to be out until January as he continues to recover from his operation.

He’s out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer although it’s unlikely that he’ll still be at the club next year, Jose Mourinho has offred him the facilities at Carrington as he continues his rehabilitation.

Here’s a picture of him on a private jet with his former teammate and friend Ignazio Abate.

He’s expected to be in Stockholm next Wednesday for the Europa League final as Mourinho previously claimed he should accompany Wayne Rooney to collect the trophy should United win.

It’s brilliant to see him working extremely hard on his recovery as it would have been a sad way to end his glittering career as a player.

His future at the club remains uncertain and it’s a shame because he clearly had more to offer, scoring 28 goals across all competitions in a season where people believed he wouldn’t have been able to cope with the intensity of football.
