Jose Mourinho has hinted towards his choices ahead of the Europa League final against Ajax, noting that some of the players that featured against Southampton could start in Stockholm.
The 54-year-old, speaking after Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, noted that he had decided upon a provisional starting XI for the clash with Ajax.
He has already confirmed that Daley Blind will start the final and, speaking after the 0-0 draw with Claude Puel’s men, that some of the players that featured at Saint Mary’s could push their way into the first team.

The last three games have seen Mourinho put out a mismatched, second string, barely even functional starting XI, with Wayne Rooney fittingly operating at its axis, in an attempt to keep his main bloc fresh ahead of the trip to Stockholm, but there have been some performances that have caught the eye.
Anthony Martial, for one, has given everything and you almost feel sorry for the fact that Mourinho still feels reluctant to include him amongst his preferred starting XI. Less likely, but perhaps just as deserving, is Axel Tuanzebe: a calm, assured presence in an otherwise disjointed side.
Supporters will eagerly await more clues over who will walk out in Stockholm over the next week.
