Jose Mourinho rested the overwhelming majority of his Manchester United squad for our Premier League game of the season against Crystal Palace in preparation for the Europa League final with Ajax.
And lots of fans are discussing who he is going to start in Stockholm. Will Marouane Fellaini be in the team? Will Anthony Martial ahead of Jesse Lingard? Will Sergio Romero keep his spot in goal as Mourinho has promised? Lots of questions to answer.
Having held an open training session today, Mourinho may well have given an insight into his potential starting XI:

Chris Smalling. The name scares me. I really wish it didn’t but he has been bambi on ice this season, especially when you compare it to how good he was last year under Louis van Gaal. With Eric Bailly banned and Marcos Rojo injured, Mourninho has to find a partner for Daley Blind but I’d much rather that be Phil Jones than Smalling.
In attack, it would be an attacking move from Mourinho if he did start Anthony Martial ahead of Jesse Lingard. While Lingard offers more defensively with his overall work rate, Martial is a better finisher and you’d rather see him on the end of a chance than Lingard.
Not starting Fellaini in midfield would also be a positive hint towards an attacking style. To note, Marouane Fellaini did train with the first team but separately.
