Manchester United have unveiled a special banner in memory of those who lost their lives in the Manchester attack.
22 people tragically lost their lives in the attack which took place at an Ariana Grande concert in the Manchester Arena and another 64 were injured after a bomb was detonated by a suicide bomber.
The attack has completely put into perspective the importance of this football match against Ajax but Man United will be desperate to win the game and bring the trophy back to Manchester for those who died, for the city of Manchester.
It’s a class banner and one which sums up the sombre mood ahead of the Europa League final. Winning and losing football games happens you move on but losing lives is something altogether more final and all of a sudden this game with Ajax has taken on an importance which goes much further than the confines of the football pitch.
Manchester has been through travesties before and come out of the other side a stronger, more together city. This will be no different and everybody is hoping tonight that United can go some way to getting that rebuilding process started with a win in Stockholm.
