Rio Ferdinand has explained why he was very impressed with Marcus Rashford‘s performance against Ajax in the Europa League final in Stockholm.
The Englishman has been in brilliant form for Jose Mourinho this season, as he’s taken Zlatan Ibrahimovic‘s place up front with the big Swede picking up a severe knee injury, ruling him out until the start of next campaign.
Speaking about the Englishman, Rio claims his attitude towards the game has been sensational.
“That mentality and temperament is what sets apart the players.
“You can have all the talent in the world but can you go out there and be unfazed about playing in front of 80,000 people?
“Can you be unfazed by the occasion, the enormity of what this game means today, not just for the football club, but as a city now.
“Can you take that on? And I don’t think this kid at any point of his career since he came in the first-team has been fazed.
“I have no worries about Marcus Rashford.”
Rashford has an incredible future ahead at United and it’s hard to believe he’s still only 19 and at the start of his career at Old Trafford.
It’s scary to think about how good he can go on to become with some guidance from Mourinho and there’s no doubt that a year of learning from on of the best striker’s in the world in Zlatan Ibrahimovic would have been excellent in his development.
