Jose Mourinho has played down talks of a move for Monaco playmaker Bernardo Silva at Manchester United.
The 22-year-old has impressed at Monaco this season, both domestically and in Europe, and looks to be a massive prospect in the world of football.
He’s made 58 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and assisting 12 as Monaco came to their first French title in 17 years, also reaching the last four of the Champions League in the process.
Man United have been massively linked with a move for the midfielder, although Manchester City remain favourites to acquire his services as he’s flown to Manchester ahead of a potential summer transfer.
Speaking about a move, Mourinho appeared to pour cold water on links.
“Will Bernardo Silva be with us next season? I don’t think so, honestly. But you never know, good players are always welcome here,” he said.
He still has three years left to run on his contract at the Stade Louis II and although he isn’t sure if Silva would move to Old Trafford, he hasn’t closed the door entirely.
United secured Champions League football after the 2-0 win over Ajax in the final of the Europa League last night and it’ll be a massive boost in acquiring new players.
