Jesse Lingard has been enjoying some time off with Burnley defender and Manchester United target Michael Keane in Dubai.
Keane, who ascended through the academy ranks with Lingard at Man United, departed for Burnley in January 2015 after making just five senior appearances.
And Jose Mourinho, following a fantastic season at Turf Moor, will reportedly table a bid worth £25m in order to bring the 24-year-old back to Old Trafford over the summer.
He was seen enjoying a casual kick-about with Lingard on a beach next to the famous Burj Al Arab earlier today.
Now, it should be noted that Keane and Lingard, both aged 24, have been friends for some time and have indeed gone on holiday together before.
That said, you can be sure that Agent Lingard would have shared a few words with Keane over the prospect of re-joining United this summer. I like to imagine the pair windsurfing and Lingard, whilst Keane emerges from the water after a nasty fall, is just hammering on over the sound of the wind: “Yeah, I wouldn’t worry about Smalling and Jones, you’ll get in ahead of them no problem”, and so on.
On a serious note, a defensive partnership of Keane and Eric Bailly would not just help keep United’s core regimented over the next year; it would, in fact, be a strong long-term investment in two highly promising defensive prospects that will only improve with more game time at the highest level.
